Wife, mother of three, entrepreneur, and the proud owner of both Aroma Design Workshop and Modern Scent, a commercial air-freshening company.
Fragrance has been part of my life since high school, when my parents bought a small air-freshening company, but my journey into the fragrance industry truly began in 2019, when I started working alongside my mom in scenting business. I loved creating new fragrance blends for businesses, although, surprisingly, I was never much of a perfume person myself.
That all changed during a spontaneous family road trip along the coast of Michigan in 2022.
We stumbled upon a DIY fragrance shop where I created my very first custom perfume. Watching the experience bring so much joy—not only to me, but also to my husband and daughter—sparked something special. We immediately knew Springfield, Missouri, needed a place where others could experience that same creativity, connection, and excitement.
When we returned home, we began researching, taking courses, experimenting, and learning everything we could. At the time, perfume bars and fragrance workshops were still fairly uncommon, so much of the process involved trial and error. But with determination, a love for bringing people together, and plenty of support from our family, Aroma Design Workshop was born.
None of this would have been possible without the love and support of my husband, Mark. He is the creative heart and helping hands behind so much of Aroma Design—from designing our logos and helping design and build our perfume bar to creating our custom bottle engravings and so much more. His talent, encouragement, and belief in this dream have helped bring Aroma Design to life, and I am incredibly grateful to have him by my side throughout this journey.
We began by hosting pop-up workshops once a month, bringing our fragrance experience to different spaces throughout the community. Then, in 2025, we met Sydnie, the owner of Serendipity, during one of our pop-ups. From the moment I met her, I had a feeling her beautiful little shop would become Aroma Design’s home—and it did! This September, we are thrilled to celebrate one year at Serendipity.
I am incredibly grateful for this journey and for every family member, business owner, customer, and friend who has supported us along the way. Every workshop, celebration, wedding, and custom fragrance allows us to become a small part of someone else’s story—and that is something I never take for granted.
At Aroma Design Workshop, fragrance is about more than simply smelling beautiful. It is about creativity, connection, and capturing moments you never want to forget.
Because when you create and bottle your own fragrance, it becomes more than a scent.
It becomes your story, bottled forever.
